From Cliche to Reality

This year customs and trade compliance community meeting held in Budapest, in W20, has been very productive. I would like to highlight one of the important marks of the meeting was the ‘’ people grow’’ topic, from manager to leader partnership approach.

We made workshops. We discussed what is the difference between manager and leader, how to be more leader and less manager? kind of every time questions.

Every time answers and of course we discussed what and how to do it: lead more manage less, giving autonomy with trust, dialog instead of dictating, triggering for growing opportunity and creativity, giving feedback and asking for feedback,  step by step delegation, leading with less ego is my favorite.

To me leadership should be tailor made. 

In a team, there can be different type of people, people are unique indeed, and they should be treated accordingly.

Self administration can be vary from person to person.

One can need less leading.

One can require individual focus, and need more leading.

One can like working with group of people, and the leader requires to engage them with others.

The reality from cliche is people uniqueness and tailor made leadership.
